I have always felt the desire to serve others. The natural birth of my daughter – in a loving entourage and safe environment of my own home – began a journey and desire for me to help other women have empowering births. So deeply affected by my own experience, I have decided to help pregnant women navigate, enjoy and take ownership of their pregnancies and births through education and support. My intention is to help women remember their true nature, so they can trust themselves, and create lives and birth experiences they love and cherish.
I am a DONA International Certified Birth Doula, a Childbirth Educator and a Yoga Instructor. I completed my doula training with Debra Pascali-Bonaro, got certified as a childbirth educator through Birth Boot Camp and studied prenatal and postnatal yoga the Khalsa Way with Gurmukh. I am also a KRI International Certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor. I teach at Golden Bridge Yoga and privately. I have also completed RIE Foundations training, a Magda Gerber’s approach to infants and toddlers which is all about respect and trust, way beyond a conventional perception of these terms. It was for me an eye-opening thing, in the same way as all I have discovered around pregnancy and birth. I now offer early childhood consultations for parents and RIE inspired playgroups for toddlers.
As a doula, I like to remind women that labor and birth is not something that happens to them, it is something they DO. I support and provide every mother with respectful and compassionate care so that she may experience the birth in the way she desires. I truly believe pregnancy is a special and sacred time in a woman’s life to be nurtured and treasured and that birth is a life-changing experience, not only because of the birth of a child; also, because of the birth of a mother and the birth of a woman! I truly desire to empower women and let them discover their own strength within.
During the summer 2014, I was honored to be the first time ever doula in Togo, West Africa. I volunteered in a Birth Center in Lomé during my stay there, closely working with the midwives. Of course, they have their "natural" doulas - mothers, sisters, cousins, aunts... but that was the first time they have ever heard a term "doula" there and got to learn it is an actual profession. It was an amazing experience and I will definitely go back to learn more, share, support women and widely spread Mother-Baby friendly practices.
I am also one of the Co-Leaders of the Manhattan Chapter of Holistic Moms Network. It is an open-minded community passionate about holistic life choices for the entire family.
I speak English, French and Polish and basic Spanish. I am a mother to a wonderful little girl from whom I learn every day. I enjoy life in simple ways, practice yoga and love traveling.
I serve New York City area on a daily basis and anywhere in the world when I travel.
